Our Keys to Success We are committed to the following operating principles and professional attributes.
Our Competitive Edge There are thousands of free-lance web developers that also offer to develop online courses. These people may have excellent technical skills, but they rarely have any formal training in instructional design. At ROI Learning we combine our knowledge of state-of-the-art digital technology with our formal and practical understanding of instructional design and learning delivery. This enables us to deliver programs that cost less and have more business impact. Client Profiles The companies we work with seek external course development services for training that is required by government agencies or by the success of their businesses. In a challenging economy our clients are also seeking training solutions that can be delivered more cost-effectively than traditional, instructor-led classroom training. Please visit our Clients page to see short descriptions of each client's challenge, our solution, and the client's testimonial to the effectiveness of our services. We also work with colleges and universities. These institutions of higher learning have large numbers of traditional, instructor-led courses, many of which are suitable for conversion to or augmentation by a distance learning approach. Since these institutions also have many in-house experts in instructional design, our emphasis in this sector is on 1) training their faculty in distance learning techniques and 2) providing resources for the rapid and professional conversion of existing courses. Our Managing Partner Verne Morland was a key contributor to the definition, implementation, and operation of NCR Corporation's online corporate university, NCRU - an award-winning [1] web-based environment for employee learning and development.
Verne led the definition of the architecture for NCRU. He also led a team of web designers and developers in
the design, development, implementation, and support of NCRU with customer satisfaction ratings of 87%.
Verne directed the development of web-based software tools that enabled learning staff to specify
recommended curricula and allowed students to select and customize the curricula to their individual needs.
He also developed and edited a monthly “Personal Learning News” newsletter that provided over 6,500
subscribers with learning news and a learning calendar tailored to their job responsibilities and development
interests.
For more information on Verne's background and interests, see his personal web site. Our Project Teams Our project teams can address all aspects of a client company's training and development needs, including:
